New Lada Niva

The legendary Lada jeep will no longer be under Russian jurisdiction, once it is out of the borders. General Motors AutoVAZ will start producing Chevrolet NIVA. In fact General Motors and AutoVAZ began their cooperation in 2002 and since then we are waiting for the new NIVA look.

The new concept was recently presented at the Moscow International Auto Salon. It includes the full package the vehicle already had: performances for off-road driving, winch bumpers, spare tire, additional lights and so much more.

Chevrolet NIVA is now available with 1.8 liter engine, which means it is 30% more powerful than nowadays vehicles. A 5-speed transmission is also available, as well as all-wheel drive and additional accessories, such as locking differential.

However, the interior will be much more comfortable than the Russian version, because of the fact that other countries are used to some other standards. Chevrolet NIVA will be available with various tools, such as GPS, temperature gauge and 4x4 tilt indicators for all explorers out there. The new generation of Chevrolet NIVA is a true artwork of an international team that includes Ondrej Pala, a Czech designer that used to work in GM in Shangai, Italian designers of Blue Engineering and of course, the good old AutoVAZ team. They knew the best tools and what to add to the new NIVA model in order to produce the best vehicle for extreme driving in the cold winter weather.

The final version of this vehicle will be on sale for less than two years, so we can hardly wait to see the price, as well the vehicle equipment and systems.

The new generation of the legendary Russian vehicle NIVA is expected to be on the market in 2016. These days Chevrolet released the first teaser images for the compact vehicle that will soon debut at the Moscow International Automobile Salon, presenting the next generation of the iconic off-road vehicle NIVA.

If you ask why Chevrolet, the answer is very simple – this NIVA model is in fact a product of the cooperation between General Motors (Chevrolet) and the Russian AutoVAZ ever since 1998. GM Chevrolet is a European company, but that however will not affect the business with the Russian Federation, where the biggest challenge currently are the sanctions and the trade war between Russia and EU / USA.

The new NIVA will keep the current shape, which means it stays as a huge and compact 4x4 off-road vehicle that manages to break through the toughest terrains ever.
